Vigor and Umbral Scouring are two of the most important resources to get in Lords of the Fallen. Vigor is used for everything from level-ups to buying armor sets to weapon upgrades.
Umbral Scouring, on the other hand, is a very rare currency that can be used to buy boss weapons and armor from Molhu at Skyrest. Farming both these currencies will allow players to jumpstart their build and get a big jump in effectiveness when fighting strong enemies and bosses. Here is how to farm them quickly and efficiently.
How To Farm Vigor And Umbral Scourings Fast
The best Vigor and Umbral Scouring farming location is near the Pilgrim’s Perch Bellroom Vestige. Here is what you need to do:
- Fast travel to the Bellroom Vestige.
- Run past the Ardent Penitent and jump off the platform. The Ardent Penitent will fall off to his death chasing you, and your return to the Umbral Realm will push the mage on the left side of the platform off as well.
- Wait for the Umbral Eye (Dread Meter) on the top right of the screen to fill up all the way until it becomes red. When the eye turns red, the Red Reaper will spawn in, signified by the red glow on the ground.
- Run towards the skeleton bridge to the right and jump off to the next platform.
- Find the wooden beam leading back towards the first platform and stand still on it.
- The Red Reaper will emerge from the ground on the first platform and try to swing at you. Stay out of his range but not so far out that he despawns.
- Keep standing still on the wooden beam until the Reaper tries a multi-attack combo with a jump at the end. He will fall off the platform into the depths below, dead.
- Jump off the wooden beam to the first platform and collect the rewards: 11000 Vigor and 5 Umbral Scouring.
- Repeat.
The Red Reaper’s AI is finicky, and he might not always fall down to his death. Sometimes, he falls to the platform below, which makes him lose more than half his health but does not result in his death. If this happens, jump back to the first platform and make him reappear using teleport. Then, just redo the whole thing again. Even if he fails to fall into the abyss the second time, the fall to the platform below will kill him.
After going through the process one time, you can choose to either wait for the Reaper’s next respawn (~3 minutes) or rest up at the Vestige, level up, and redo from the beginning (~6 minutes). The second way is safest as no strong enemies spawn in during the first Reaper spawn, but the first way is faster.

How To Use Umbral Scouring
Players can use Umbral Scouring to buy boss weapons, armor, spells, and items. The process is fairly simple.
- Defeat the boss and get their Remembrance from the Umbral Echo in the arena.
- Fast travel to Skyrest and talk to Molhu in the Umbral Realm.
- Select “Offer Remembrances” and select the boss.
- Buy the item using Umbral Scouring.
