Leveling up in Lords of the Fallen sees the player allocating points to one of six stats in the game, and there is no easy way to respec your character and restart your build with a fresh slate.
For players starting their playthrough blind, it’s quite easy to mess up and spend their points haphazardly, making their build non-viable in the long run. Luckily, the game does allow you to reset everything and start anew, but it’s gonna cost you. Here is how to do it.
How To Reset Your Build
There are certain prerequisites that need to be met before you will be allowed to reset your build. They are:
- Defeat Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal: She is the very first major boss of the game, and successfully defeating her is a requirement to be able to respec.
- Obtain Rebirth Chrysalis: These are extremely rare consumable items that can be exchanged to respec your character and reallocate your points however you see fit.
After defeating Pieta, enter Skyrest, the main hub area where multiple friendly NPCs can be found. Find Pieta just in front of the Skyrest Vestige and talk to her. Exhaust her dialogue by talking to her multiple times until you see a dialogue box saying ‘Use Rebirth Chrysalis’ pop up. At the start, this will be grayed out and non-interactable, meaning while this option is available, you cannot access it because you’re missing a required item. This item is the Rebirth Chrysalis.
Where To Find Rebirth Chrysalis
Rebirth Chrysalis is a consumable item that can be used by talking to Pieta at Skyrest to reset your build. While rare, there are multiple locations in the game where this item can be found.
- Purchased from Molhu: Enter the Umbral Realm at Skyrest and find Molhu in the chamber directly across from Pieta. Talk to them and buy a single Rebirth Chrysalis for 8000 Vigor.
- Purchased from Winterberry: In the Revelation Depths, after defeating the Skintaker, go back to the depths of the cistern and find the door that opens with the Drainage Control Key. Winterberry will be inside, and you can buy a Rebirth Chrysallis from her.
- Available as an overworld item in the Fief of the Chill Curse.
- Available as an overworld item in the Tower of Penance.
