  • Shooting: the main change this year is the inclusion of shooting attributes, which give each throwing mechanic unique stats to help determine its effectiveness. There are also five new shooting gauges to choose from, with 15 more to be unlocked through Seasons over the next year.
  • Pro Stick Enhancements: Move combos have been added to the Pro Stick, presenting new options for scoring and dribbling. Slam dunks have also received new commands, ensuring that players can slam dunk exactly how they want to.
  • Skill Moves and Adrenaline Rises: new move combos offer players even more ball handling and scoring options for their offensive arsenal. In addition, to prevent excessive dribbling, Adrenaline Boosts have been introduced, three power-ups that are consumed every time a player performs an explosive outlet. Once the three boosts on each possession are depleted, players will notice their speed and acceleration significantly decrease for the remainder of the play.
  • Defense: the defensive game includes important new features aimed at creating more realistic on-ball defense, blocking and stealing. This year, blocks have been adjusted to be more true to life, producing more logical results, with the right players stopping opponents when they time their block attempts right. There is also a clear improvement in ball security for good killers, and much more.
  • Badges: new tiered badge system for PlayStation® 5 (PS5™) and Xbox Series X|S players where there will be 16 badges per attribute category: eight at Tier 1, four at Tier 2 and four at Tier 3, with the idea being that players must equip a certain amount of badges at lower tiers before being able to equip badges at higher tiers.
  • Domains: although the primary and secondary Domains remain the same, the Team Domain has been redesigned. It now functions as a cooperative team system, with all members sharing a single meter. The new design makes much more sense and does a better job of representing what it means to be good as a team and take control of the game as a unit.
  • Artificial Intelligence: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players will notice improved ball handling, pick and roll execution, defensive tendencies and coaching decisions by the AI.

Big and significant changes that will have players very happy, in a game that is approaching by leaps and bounds, with a lot of content ahead. Let’s remember that NBA 2K23 launches next September 9 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
