Each weapon we encounter will belong to a race of intelligent, gun-like aliens called Gatlians. On the surface, these creatures behave more or less like traditional weapons: pistols, shotguns, SMGs, etc. However, each weapon has one or two additional tricks up its sleeve to give us more options in combat and more ways to explore the worlds. Regarding melee weapons, at the beginning of the game we will receive a sentient knife called Knifey. It’s quite powerful, but not particularly loyal.
