The purchase of SRD by Nintendo is designed to increase the Japanese company’s manufacturing capacity, according to Nintendo. Nintendo Corporation President Shuntaro Furukawa previously stated that the company’s “DNA” is something it does not want to buy.

Nintendo officials also stated that the purchase of SRD will have a minor financial impact on the corporation.
