With the release of the first Marvel’s Spider-Man by Insomniac Games, fans of the character got the ultimate Spider-Man experience, which of course included the beautiful implementation of Peter Parker’s various distinct suits across his multi-decade-long history in comic books, animation, and films. Fans had the pleasure of switching between any suit they liked at any given time, letting them customize their playthrough just that bit more, and with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it’s no different.
While many suits have been relegated to the first game, many fan favorites have returned, and quite a few brand-new ones have been added. And with Peter specifically, variants of his Symbiote Black Suit are also included for an even bigger selection. Among all the gorgeous suits Peter can wear, these are the most spectacular.

10 Aurantia
This is one royal-looking suit, glistening with gold trims and a spider logo, different tones of black and red, and soft curves around the muscles. While some may find the design too busy, it gives Peter a distinct look. The gold travels through the body perfectly, creating some nice contrast with the darker colors.
The black eyes create a more sinister expression, evoking a darker, more intense Peter, which certainly fits this game like a glove. The design of the spider logo makes it feel like an offshoot of the Advanced Suit which Peter mainly wears for the series.
9 Scarlet III
The Scarlet III suit does two interesting things at the same time: Invert the placement of Spidey’s red and blue, and give Peter a sleek hood that changes his silhouette. In essence, it’s a simple design, but employed well it serves as a completely different look for the wall-crawler.
The blue starts as the hood and travels in four directions down the arms, chest, and back. The big, segmented spider logo gives it more depth, while the almost completely plain legs make sure the design is not overly stuffed.
8 Superior
Although originated from a rather divisive comic book storyline, the Superior Spider-Man suit is a sleek and darker look that any fan can appreciate. Removing the blue completely and opting for black while also minimizing the red nails the concept of a more sinister Spidey.
The sharp, meaner, and black-filled eyes give it an intimidating and angry stare. The spider logo is also black and stretching its legs across the chest breaks up the red even more, really driving home a drastic change in the usual Spider costume.
7 Apunkalyptic
Take the Spider-Punk and crank it way up. This is a costume that barely feels like Spider-Man, but just enough to want to see Peter wear it. The leather jacket and combat pants drive home the idea of a more combat-ready and street-level Peter.
The asymmetry is created by a mechanical arm and leg that shows how beaten up and experienced this Spider is. The jagged and edgier Spider logo on the back denotes a Spider-Man that no one should mess with. Quite the change, but we’ve seen Peter get much more intense than this.
6 Iron Spider Armor
The Iron Spider has always been a fan favorite and first debuted in the iconic Civil War comic book. The first truly advanced tech suit for Peter was given to him by Iron Man originally. The most well-known feature of the suit is the mechanical spider legs that sprout from the back, which were eventually adapted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This particular iteration of the suit has been given a more MCU-esque look, which comfortably fits the setting of the Insomniac Games. The beautiful metallic gold is sure to make Peter even flashier during combat.
5 Into The Spider-Verse Noir
If you ask any fan of the Spider-Verse films about their favorite Spider from the first movie, many of them will mention Spider-Man Noir played by Nicolas Cage. So it makes perfect sense that Insomniac Games would bring that awesome design into the game.
Just like Miles’ Spider-Verse costume, this one is adapted perfectly, not just the design of the suit but also its aesthetic, making it look pulled right out of the film. While it may clash a bit with the game’s realistic art style, there’s no denying it’s one hell of a good-looking crime-fighter.
4 Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit
Well, that’s kind of a misleading name, but the fan-favorite Spider-Man 2099 makes its return once again looking as stylish as ever. Miguel’s classic, edgy, and futuristic costume is always great to see in a game, or film. With the distinct spider-shaped mask, the massive skull spider on the torso, and the big red talons on the forearms, this is one of those legacy suits that fans always ask for.
It’s rather odd when a game doesn’t include it as one of the options. With this costume Peter slips into a more aggressive fit, knocking out anyone in his path, especially if they dare interrupt a canon event.
3 Webbed (Tobey Maguire Suit)
The most iconic Spidey suit in live-action is beautifully represented in video game form once again. This is one of those suits that just never gets old. The sleek metallic silver webbing made this costume distinct from the very beginning in 2002, and it continues to please the eyes when you swing around New York or fight bad guys with it.
This is a suit that just looks perfect on every occasion. Seeing it in cutscenes evokes a nostalgic feeling from watching Tobey Maguire back in the day. Everyone’s childhood Spider-Man is always great to see.
2 New Red And Blue (Tom Holland Suit)
Tom Holland’s trilogy capped off, at least for now, with a brand new, more comic-accurate gorgeous suit. Now selectable in the game, fans can appreciate this spectacular costume while playing. The bright red and blue, and those round expressive eyes, feel right out of the classic comic books.
This is as source-accurate as it gets for live-action suits, and being able to wear it in Spider-Man 2 gives fans the feel of playing through one of the old-school stories from Stan Lee. Simple but effective, simply amazing.
1 Classic Black Suit
While the black suit designed for the game is fantastic in its own right, there’s no beating the greatness that is the classic symbiote suit for Peter. This is just one of those designs that transcends generations. Since its debut in 1984, Spidey’s Black Suit has been the quintessential alternate costume for Peter.
And the symbiote storyline and by extension Venom, has remained an integral part of his mythos, so much so that Spider-Man 2 is not the first game to focus on it. If it ain’t broke, or weakened from metallic noise, don’t fix it
