While some quests may feel like they would be a waste of time, sometimes they do pull at your heartstrings. The Unjustified quest is actually one of those kinds of quests. Helping an older lady get justice for her husband’s murder is something you just can’t resist.

Location

The Starfield character is about to enter the Quikshop in the Underbelly of Neon to speak with Katherine.

Head to Volii Alpha in the Volii System and go to Neon. Make your way to the Underbelly of Neon, you will want to go to the Quikshop next to Fresh Warm Food sign, right across the way from the Xenofresh Seafood stand.

Speak With Katherine Luzion

The Starfield character is speaking with Katherine about her husband's death.

Here you’ll find an older lady named Katherine Luzion either sweeping or just standing outside. Upon talking with her, you can ask her some personal questions, and she will tell you her husband passed away. She has a feeling he was murdered, but it’s being made to look as if he died from a heart attack or something.

Find Tevin Anastas

The Starfield character is questioning Tevin Anastas about Katherine's husband's death.

After you speak with Katherine, you’re going to have to find Tevin Anastas who owns the Emporium in Bayu Plaza. Follow the marker on your screen to the elevator. Once you’re out of the elevator, turn left and follow the marker on your screen to the Bayu Plaza door which takes you to Neon Core.

When you exit the door, walk towards the Enhance, and before you get to the bridge, turn right. Go into the first building on your right through the orange doors to The Emporium. Tevin will be sweeping the floor near the counter. He will tell you that you don’t look like his usual clientele.

If you tell him you forgot your snob-entitled outfit, he will laugh and tell you that apparently, he made an error in judgment judging from your tone. After he apologizes, he will explain that he gets thugs in his shop and begin speaking of “Headlock” who is constantly damaging his goods.

You can choose to take care of Headlock for him which will initiate the Mob Mentality Mission. After the Headlock conversation is completed, talk to him about the death of Thomas Luzion. He will be reluctant to give you any information as he claims he already reported what he had seen to Security.

You will have a few choices to either pay him, persuade him, or even the Neon Street Rat choice if you chose that in the beginning. If persuasion doesn’t work, the Neon Rat option warning him that you have some friends that could smash up his store should work. He will tell you that he saw Thomas get murdered and then thrown into the ocean.

He reported the incident to Security to which he was then threatened if he didn’t stay silent he would die. You can then ask more questions to try and pry more information from him. He will tell you he thinks the one who murdered Thomas has friends in security, and he thinks he heard Thomas call the attacker Russell and Rusty a few times. Though he has never dealt with him personally, he knows that you can find him near Madam Sauvage’s Place at the Sleepcrates.

Find Rusty

The Starfield character found Rusty in an ally in Neon and is questioning him about a murder.

Head back out of the shop and turn to your right. Head towards Reliant Medical and to the side of it you’ll find a staircase leading to a door for Ebbside. While here you could also join the Ebbside Strikers, but to continue this quest you’ll want to follow the marker down the allyway to the right of Madame Sauvage’s Place. Rusty will approach you asking for some credits.

Once you respond with either you know what he did or that you’ll end up in the ocean if you don’t give him the credits, he will begin pleading his innocence. He will claim he thought “he” took care of it, that it was an accident, and he never meant to do anything.

You’ll find out the “he” who was supposed to take care of it is an old buddy in Security Rusty has. When asked why he targeted Thomas, he says he wanted credits for his Aurora addiction. When Thomas refused to give Rusty credits, Rusty claims things got out of hand, and he fell off the upper platform.

You can try to ask who his friend in security is, but he will still refuse and tell you that if you let him go he will disappear forever. You can then choose to kill Rusty or tell him to leave and never come back. If you kill him it won’t take much to down him.

Should You Kill Rusty?

The Starfield character is shooting Rusty Becker for murdering Katherine's husband.

This is solely a personal choice. On one hand if you do kill him, he won’t have a chance to hurt anyone again. If you choose to not kill him, who knows if that will come back to haunt you or if you’ll eventually benefit from it.

Looting his body will get you the Solstice gun, credits, and some ammo. If you let him go, he will tuck himself away in the ally where he was previously. With either option, you will then have to return to Katherine.

Telling Katherine The News

The Starfield character is turning in the mission with Katherine who is receiving justice for her husband's untimely death.

After you find the elevator back to the Underbelly, go back to Katherine’s shop and tell her what happened. You will have the choice to lie and say her husband’s death was an accident or tell her the truth that he was murdered, and it was covered up by a Security officer. If you tell her the truth, she will ask what happened to her husband’s killer.

You can choose to tell her that you killed him, or you can tell her the killers name was rusty and ask if Thomas ever interacted with him. If you ask her about him, then she’ll say he was one of the Generdyne workers who would steal and vandalize. She will then ask what you did with Rusty and if you chose to kill him, you can tell her you killed him.

Thankfully, she will agree an eye for an eye and be glad he’s gone. You will be asked which officer did the cover-up. If you choose to tell her that it probably wouldn’t end well for either of you if you took on security, she will agree though express how angry it makes her thinking about it.

Katherine will tell you she now feels vindicated by knowing the truth as the uncertainty was eating away at her. She will offer you credits, and it will be up to you whether you want to accept them. If you decline the payment telling her it’s not necessary, she will say how sweet you are and how grateful she is that you helped her.

Rewards

The Starfield character is being rewarded by Katherine for getting justice for her husband's death.

Regardless of whether you accept payment or not from Katherine, you will receive 200 XP. If you did accept payment, you will receive 3700 credits and around 110 XP.
