Starfield has over 100 systems for players to visit, each having multiple planets and moons to explore. One of Starfield’s selling points is the ability to explore the galaxy, with players given that freedom even if there are no clear objective markers in the system.
Tau Ceti is one of those systems with no clear objectives, having no major ties to any major quest line. Despite it being an unimportant system story-wise, it is still worthwhile for players to travel to.
How To Get To Tau Ceti
Tau Ceti is found in the far left section of the galaxy map and is only one jump away from Alpha Centauri, the system with New Atlantis. Tau Ceti is less than 12 lightyears from the other nearest system, making it reachable by just about any ship in the game. The recommended level for this system is 10, and it is not owned by any major faction in the galaxy. Upon traveling to the galaxy for the first time, any planet will need to be selected to be traveled to.
What Is In Tau Ceti
Tau Ceti may not have any very unique locations to visit but is a great system for players to go to early in a playthrough to experience much of what Starfield has to offer. This system has a total of 9 planets and 9 moons, all with various types of resources to be mined. Players can also attempt to survey all of the planets and moons for a massive payday when selling the data to Vladimir.
In orbit over many planets, players will run into Spacers attacking other ships passing through the system, giving easy space battles to level up the Piloting Skill. There will be a few isolated UC ships flying around the system, offering great options for pirating for those wanting to commit crimes but in a more safe and controlled environment.
