Michael Mumbauer, who has worked in Sony’s gaming division for a long time (speech and PlayStation, of course), along with Days Gone action creative director John Garvin, have founded Liithos Studios. The first project of the new company will be Ashfall – a multiplayer “transmedia” action AAA-class with an open world.

The Liithos team has hired experienced developers who have previously had a hand in venerable projects: The Last of Us, Syphon Filter, Days Gone, Uncharted: Golden Abyss. At what stage is the process of creating Ashfall – it is very difficult to say. But the first concept art team has already released.

In the upcoming Ashfall, players will have to fight for survival in Seattle, severely affected by global warming. The natural cataclysm occurred due to a powerful volcanic eruption, as well as the presence of destructive energy fields.

The authors of the presented multiplayer action game claim that in terms of gameplay it will be very reminiscent of Days Gone. Despite the, shall we say, multiplayer focus, a full-fledged story campaign for Ashfall is also planned. Players who have completed all of the local single-player missions will be invited to try their luck in PvE-missions and PvP-battles.

Ashfall is due for release on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the Hedera Hashgraph platform. The latter, according to the developers, represents “a faster and safer alternative to blockchain.” It seems that the former managers of PlayStation and Days Gone are a bit late with the trend. In any case, the authors of Ashfall intend to use the platform as a technology for the sale and exchange of in-game items.
