There are two key elements that you will be making use of to solve Alternative Option. They are the RBG Converter and a fan that is on the floor of the puzzle room. You will also need to use your movement in a puzzle plaformer manner to reposition yourself to solve this puzzle.

How To Solve Alternative Option

The Talos Principle 2 Alternative Option Hexahedron RGB Converter

When you start this puzzle, you will find a large fan on the floor with a connection heading to a wall — which will lead to the switch to turn on the fan. To the left of this fan will be a large blue barrier that has a green sun on its right side. Between the fan and the blue barrier will be an RGB Converter. To the right of the fan will be a Hexahedron — which looks like a metal cube. Start by turning on the fan and then go to the RGB Converter. Take the RGB Converter and then go stand on the activated fan to be thrust up into the air.

You will see that there is a blue laser and a red laser just past the wall where the fan’s switch is. The converter is not able to connect to these lasers from the ground, but since you are now up in the air you can highlight and select both of these lasers, then turn to the left and select the sun. Drop back down and select the option to connect the RGB Converter. This will establish links to both lasers and the sun — even though it cannot read them from down here.

Now, turn off the fan and pick up the Hexahedron on the right side of the fan. Place the Hexahedron on top of the fan and look back at the RGB Converter. Pick up the RGB Connector and place it on top of the Hexahedron. Turn the fan back on, and it will lift the RGB Converter so that it perfectly aligns it with both lasers and the sun to lower the barrier. Behind this barrier will be the Progress Wheel.

Quick Summary

  1. Turn the fan on.
  2. Take the RGB Converter
  3. Stand over the fan.
  4. Connect the RGB Converter to both lasers and the sun.
  5. Place the RGB Converter down.
  6. Turn the fan off.

  8. Place RGB Converter on Hexahedron.
  9. Turn the fan on.
