The Talos Principle 2: How To Solve Self Sufficient

The Talos Principle 2 is an incredible puzzle game experience with lots of different mechanics to test players puzzle solving skills. Like most puzzle games, it does not throw players into the deep end without first giving them a tutorial puzzle — where things will start simple and get progressively harder.

Solving Sufficient will use a lot of mechanics from previous puzzles in the East 1 section of the game. You will see returning objects from puzzles such as Alternative Option and Through The Door. This includes the RGB Converter, the Fan, and the Connector. You will need to connect these items together in order for you to reach the end of the puzzle.

Self Sufficient – Setting Up The Connector

You will find a circular structure in the middle of the puzzle area. There is a single opening with a green sun on one side and a red sun on the other — this will be referred to as Red Sun 1. Make your way to the side with the green sun on it. Opposite the green sun, you will see another red sun — this will be referred to as Red Sun 2. Between these two suns will be a Fan, and if you go up to this fan you will have the option to detach it from where it is placed.

Detach the fan and bring it over to the button near the green sun. This will cause the barrier next to the button to open and grant you access to a green laser and a Connector. Move backward until you can see both the green laser and the green sun from a single position — this is very easy-to-accomplish task if you keep your gaze toward the space between them. A good location for this is to the left of where you detached the fan.

From this spot, you should still be able to see both the green laser and the green sun. However, later in this puzzle, you will also need to move this connector to higher grounds for a different part of the puzzle, so the ideal location to put it down is actually to the left of Red Sun 2. Look towards the green laser and select it, followed by looking at the green sun and selecting it afterward. Select the “Connect” option to place the Connector down and have the green laser connect to the green sun.

Self Sufficient – Setting Up The RGB Connector

Pick up the Fan and make your way around the structure where you will find a button in front of Red Sun 1. Place the fan on the button to lower the barrier next to it. Behind this barrier will be a blue laser and an RGB Converter. Take the RGB converter and walk from the button to the steps near the outer area of the puzzle area.

Turn around, and you should be able to see both the red suns, the blue laser, and the Connector. With the RGB Converter, select the blue laser, the Connector, and then both red suns. Pick up the Fan from the button and place it back where you initially found it. Step on the pad in front of the Fan to be launched up to the top of the structure. Here you will find the Progress Wheel.

Quick Summary

  1. Detach the Fan.
  2. Place the Fan on the button next to the green sun.
  3. Put the Connector to the left of Red Sun 2.
  4. Connect the Connector to the green laser and the green sun.
