The developers from Plot Twist studio together with Rogue Games have presented the gameplay of The Last Case of Benedict Fox, a detective mystery mystery inspired by the books of Howard Lovecraft.
The plot of The Last Case of Benedict Fox centers on a detective named, imagine, Benedict Fox. He comes to a remote estate to investigate the murder of a young married couple and the disappearance of their child. Since we are dealing with a Lovecraft-inspired work, the demon partner should be taken calmly. The demon helps the hero by giving him access to the netherworld and by exploring the memories and emotions of the dead.
In the actual gameplay video presented, Fox entertains himself by searching for ancient messages that might help with an ancient ritual. At some point, our detective has to engage in a battle with unfriendly demons, using a knife and a gun. The powers of a good demon partner also come in handy, which once again demonstrates the variety of approaches in the game’s combat system.
Of all the game’s features, the developers saw fit to note the following:
- Fight demons, explore the subconscious and solve complex puzzles in an adventure maze inspired by Lovecraftian nightmares, crime noir and early 20th century jazz music.
- Use your connection with a demon to investigate the minds of the recently deceased to get “readings.” Immerse yourself in surreal worlds where memories, emotions, and trauma take physical form.
- Uncover the secrets of an old mansion where a couple was found murdered and their child went missing. Immerse yourself in a dark but intimate affair that will force you to confront the family demons–literally and figuratively.
- Use your weapons, demon powers, and environment in creative combinations to defeat demons, monsters, and sectarians, but remember that concentration and tactical approach are your main strengths.
The amazing detective metroid The Last Case of Benedict Fox isn’t scheduled to go on sale until spring 2023. The developers from Plot Twist are not ready to give an exact date, but for more details about the game you can already follow the appropriate pages in stores Steam and Epic Games Store. An Xbox Series X and S console release is also planned.
