Last week, Creative Assembly company showed their new title – multiplayer PvPvE shooter Hyenas, which tells about the adventures of space thieves. SEGA has only published a CG-trailer, but the project is already playable and the gameplay is very good, according to Tom Henderson.
If we believe Henderson, there will be five teams in the matches—the group that has collected the most loot wins. Each item has a certain assigned value, and it will be possible to leave the map early, scoring the required minimum points. Death is punishable by the loss of loot. On the levels, there are also various upgrades and useful items like armor.
Among the unique gameplay features of Hyenas are weightless rooms. Grogs are free not only to fly in such rooms, but also to cling to the walls and ceiling to make it easier to shoot at your opponents.
As befits a modern multiplayer shooter, the characters are not faceless—there will be a total of eight heroes with a unique arsenal. So far, we know only about four of them:
- Commander Wright – Bropp Foam Gun (a gun that produces special foam in the spirit of Prey).
- Galaxia – Herckle Shield (shield).
- Prima – Zero-G Harness (a weapon that controls gravity).
- Doc Hotfix – Drono Drone (drone).
Hyenas doesn’t have an exact release date yet, just a haunting “2023. [Video] Gratia will be released on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
