Apex Legends has undergone many changes since its release in 2019. The game came out with just eight characters and one map, but now it has over 20 characters, four maps, and tons of additional content. Each season of Apex Legends has some changes to the game to keep it fresh. Season 14 introduces a big change to the Guardian Angel perk that fans have been asking for, but what is it?

What does the Guardian Angel perk do in Apex Legends?

The Guardian Angel perk allows players to revive teammates with an extra 50 health and 50 shield.. The perk was previously attached to the Golden Knockdown Shield, but was moved to the Golden Knockdown Shield in Season 14. The Golden Knockdown Shield’s former ability, the infamous self-cutting, has disappeared from the game. The Gold Knockdown Shield now allows players to carry more healing items per slot, which may appeal to players in Season 14.

How to use the Guardian Angel perk in Apex Legends

To use the Guardian Angel perk, you must be equipped with the Golden Knockdown Shield. This perk is automatically activated when a teammate is revived. Perk does not speed up resurrection, but your teammate will get very handy extra health and shields. Characters with regeneration abilities, such as Lifeline, Newcastle and Mirage, benefit greatly from this perk.

The gold items in Apex Legends have evolved over the course of the game’s existence. Perks have been changed for almost all gold items to improve the balance of the game. Developers Respawn shared that the removal of self-tapping items may be permanent, but all changes are evaluated for feedback, so it’s possible that the perk will return. The removal of self-tapping in Season 14 is by far the biggest change in perks, so it will be interesting to see how the gameplay changes.
