Everything we know about the new combat system of Xenoblade Chronicles 3
Here’s everything we know about Xenoblade Chronicles 3. From how many party members you can have, to what Ouroboros is, and more!
How many party members can you have in Xenoblade Chronicles 3?
Xenoblade Chronicles allows players to have up to seven party members on the field at one time. Although the maximum party size is seven, there can only be six main characters, and those main six characters do not change. A seventh party member is reserved for Heroes. Heroes are additional characters that you can find on your journey to help you in battle.
As in previous installments of the franchise, the characters use a variety of weapons, including swords, maces, and chakrams.
Ouroboros Combat
In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, some characters can synchronize using tag-team mechanics to perform Ouroboros. This technique, called Ouroboros, combines two party members into one form, increasing their strength and giving them new abilities and attacks.
Chain Attacks
Players can make chain attacks on enemies when their caliber is full. Attacks made during chain attacks have a 70% chance of completely ignoring defense. Players can also gain Overkills, dealing more damage than their enemies’ health can withstand, instantly taking them off the battlefield.
Character Roles
Each character in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 takes on one of three roles in combat. Player characters are categorized into the roles of attacker, defender, and healer. Each of these classes has strengths and weaknesses that users must master in order to make the most of their party’s composition.
Many other classes fall into these three basic groups.
Attackers (the main damage-causing members of the party)
Defenders (best defend and evade attacks)
Healers (Replenish HP and revive party members)
Formations are also flexible in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, which means that combat effectiveness depends a lot on how you approach combat encounters. Defenders work best when they draw the enemy’s attention so that attackers can hit enemies from their blind spots. Healers should keep a safe distance to replenish party HP and keep everyone alive. How you position attackers, defenders, and healers can affect the outcome of the battle.
Switching Characters
In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, players can alternate the characters they control by swapping them in and out of combat. Nintendo.
Quick evasion
In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, users can remove weapons and dodge attacks to avoid taking damage from hard hits, giving users more options in combat. Nintendo has shared a preview of this new mechanic in action. The ability to use quick evasion and return to combat can give players a significant advantage over enemies.
