Passive – Blade’s End

Talon’s abilities apply a stack of Wound to enemy champions and large monsters hit for 6 seconds, stacking up to 3 times. Damaging the same target again resets the Wound duration. When Talon attacks a target with 3 stacks of Wound, all Wound stacks are consumed to send the target into a hidden state.

Dealing 75 physical damage (75 + 200% bonus) over 2 seconds. Monsters are dealt 120% of this damage. The target will not gain Wound stacks during this period. If an enemy champion is killed while bleeding, Talon gains bonus movement speed that decays over 2 seconds.

Skill 1 – Noxian Diplomacy

  • Long-range Cast: Dashes towards an enemy champion, dealing 65 physical damage (65 + 100% bonus)
  • Close-range Cast: Stabs the target, dealing 98 Physical damage (98 + 150% Bonus)

If this ability kills the target, Talon restores 10 health, and the ability cooldown is reduced by 50%

Skill 2 – Rake

Tosses daggers in a cone at the target area, dealing 50 physical damage (50 +40% bonus) to enemies hit. Upon reaching the Maximum range, the daggers linger for 0.75 seconds before returning, dealing 50 physical damage (50 + 80% bonus) to enemies hit along the way and slowing them by 40% for 1 second.

Skill 3 – Assassin’s Path

Vaults over the terrain or structure closest to him.

Skill 4 – Shadow Assault

  • First cast: Flings out a ring of blades around himself, dealing 80 physical damage (80 + 90% bonus) to nearby enemies and gaining invisibility and 40% bonus Movement Speed for up to 2.5 seconds.
  • Recast: Exits invisibility and recalls the blades, dealing 80 physical damage (80 + 90% bonus) again to enemies hit along the way.

How to recast

Tap the ability 1 seconds after the first cast to recast. The ability will automatically be cast again when invisibility expires or is disabled.

Best Runes Setup and Spells for Talon in Wild Rift

Even though Talon is designed to be played in either Jungle or Mid-Lane, his Runes still stay the same in general. nevertheless, you might want to change them regarding the enemy composition accordingly.

  • First Strike: This Rune helps in giving Talon an extra Gold boost ahead whilst farming in the early game. The damage boost can also help make it easier for Talon to takedown enemy champions.
  • Sudden Impact: Sudden Impact serves as a good rune to equip since it combos well with Talon’s invisibility by increasing his penetration against champions with high defense.
  • Mark of the Weak: This rune increases the damage dealt by Talon to enemy champions currently being attacked. This can be very useful as it helps to easily takedown enemy champions.
  • Eyeball Collection: This rune grants extra Adaptive force each time Talon takedowns an enemy champion. The extra Adaptive Force helps increase Talon’s Attack damage, making him stronger on each Takedown.
  • Giant Slayer: This rune makes it easier for Talon to take down an enemy champion since it increases damage dealt to them based on how high their Health is.

Battle Spells

  • Smite: It is highly advisable to jungle with Talon, thus, equipping the Smite battle spell makes it even more easy to takedown jungle monsters. This spell should be only taken if Talon is going to Jungle, if else, spells, like Ignite or Flash are advisable.
  • Flash: For safety purposes, it is advised to pick up Flash. Talon could maximize this spell to increase his mobility on the battlefield. This would make it easier for him to catch up and take down enemy champions or flee from dangerous situations.

Dynamic Protobelt

Players can purchase and upgrade Boots of Dynamism to gain extra attack damage and armor penetration when attacking enemy targets. Further enchanting the boots would now allow for a new ability that can be unleashed to deal extra damage to enemies.

Yomuu’s Ghostblade

This equipment grants Talon extra Movement speed whilst at full stacks, as well as extra attack speed. This item also provides a large boost to Talon’s attack damage and armor penetration. This can be quite useful on the battlefield in taking down enemy targets.

Duskblade of Drakthaar

This core item provides a special effect by dealing bonus physical damage on Talon’s first attack against the enemy Champion. It also imposes a 99% slow on enemy targets for 0.35s, thus making this item an indispensable item for bursting down mobile champions.

Edge of Night

This item provides extra Health and attack damage as well as a unique passive that grants a shield that blocks the next hostile ability received. It is quite useful as it reduces the chances of Talon falling traps to enemy Crowd-control abilities. This item also provides extra armor penetration for use on the Rift.

Serpent’s Fang

This item helps reduce enemies’ Shield regen, thus reducing their durability especially when they mostly generate Shields. It also increases Talon’s damage as well as Armor penetration

Serylda’s Grudge

This battle item greatly increases Talon’s armor penetration whilst reducing the efficiency of enemies’ active skills. Coupled with the slow this item provides, it sure makes it hard for enemies to survive an encounter with Talon.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Talon Gameplay Tips

Since Talon is an assassin with high burst damage potential, the best lane for him is Jungle. Or else you can play him in the mid-lane to farm more efficiently. The Wild Rift’s map is a mirror, so it is needed to understand the map side before laning. According to his gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our League of Legends: Wild Rift Talon guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late games.

Early Game

Buy a long sword at first and place an award in the enemy jungle (near buff). If no enemy is around, start the jungle. You can use your smite right away to take a blue buff, so it will cool down again for another charge.

After killing the frog, you can proceed to take out your red buff, as it would buff Talon’s damage output. Just try to focus on leveling up and unlocking your ultimate. Then return to the base if needed and buy items (according to the situation). Do not conserve your smite, try to maximize it to slay strong jungle monsters.

Mid Game

By now you must have bought 2 core items which are enough to easily take down the squishy heroes. Try to aim the enemy team’s carry. Being an Assassin you shouldn’t target high HP and sustain heroes unless they have very low Health and are alone. Nonetheless, prioritizing enemy main ADC heroes would deter enemies farming as killing them will make the enemy fall behind in terms of gold and XP.

So prioritize your 4th Ability on enemy carry. To properly redirect your fourth skill’s damage towards enemy targets, players must use attacks like even Talon’s first skill to strike enemies. This would then cause the blades to all converge towards that enemy target instead, which makes it easier to execute a single enemy target.

Late Game

As a Jungler, probably you would have the highest gold. And, the highest gold means you have enough items to delete low-HP heroes easily. During the late game, both teams deal with massive damage and their main objective is to push turrets.

As an Assassin, roam around the map, preferably with a Tank to soak all the damages, and then target the carry and Mage heroes. Once the enemy’s main damage dealer has been taken down, your team will be able to easily clear the lanes.

Final Thoughts

Talon is a strong and capable assassin champion with skills that can easily burst down enemy targets. Paired with a unique ultimate ability that allows him to be invisible, taking down enemies would surely be the simplest thing to do. Nonetheless, one thing is for sure, it is really fun playing him.
